Have the ability to fully kit your troops with each item
Just think how much more powerful your army would be instead of having 1 Black Powder missile you have the following.
1 dwarf carrying a Black Powder missile on a chariot with a Battle axe in the other hand.
Defence could be 1 dwarf wearing an invisibility shield and plate armour with a helmet.
The same then goes for Defence, spies and Sentries.
Imagine the spy strength of carrying nunckakas, with a cloak on and an Skeleton Key in the pocket with a dirk in the other..
For the grappling hook, you must have a rope to use it properly.
etc etc etc...

I like this idea. Let each soldier have something on their head, both hands, their feet, chest, legs, and utility belt items, and give them something to get around with. Make each one by themselves worth a certain amount, but when fully dressed they become 'super soldiers' which have twice the stats of combined equipment. (or super spy, super sentry, etc)
